The Planet, a state of the art data center, has locations in both Dallas and Houston, TX. The Houston Headquarters is located in the Bayou Place Entertainment Complex in the downtown theatre district. With more than 500 employees to office, they decided to purchase the old Albert Thomas Convention Center. The Convention Center had 67,000 sq. ft. of open office space.

An acoustical firm was hired to recommend a product that would provide the noise reduction and light reflectivity needed for a comfortable environment. They chose K-13 and a 1 inch application of K-13 white was applied to the metal deck. The resilient fibers of K-13 absorb sound energy instead of reflecting it, reducing reverberation time and making speech more intelligible, while exposing an attractive ceiling.
